My Recipe Magic? I was introduced to it about a year ago and have grown to love it more and more. I happen to be their featured "chef" this week, which I'm pretty excited about, so I thought I'd tell you about what it is and why I love it.
My Recipe Magic is a site created by the sisters behind Six Sisters's Stuff. They're always coming up with new ideas, those sisters. MRM is an online community for recipe lovers and food bloggers to share recipes, make custom cookbooks and menus, create shopping lists, see nutritional information for recipes, earn extra income, and generate traffic to your site.
You start by creating an account. Simple. Then, you submit a recipe. Again, simple. It takes about two minutes. If you're a food blogger, you just copy/paste your post into the right fields and upload a picture. You can choose to display the full recipe/directions on MRM or have only part of it shown with a link back to your blog (which is what I do). At the bottom of each submission, you can also link to other related recipes to keep people interested. Once it's accepted onto MRM, I go in and get the link and put this button at the bottom of the post on my site:
Maybe you've seen it. People often ask me for nutritional values for the recipes I post. MRM calculates that for you. When you click that button, it takes you from my blog to my post on MRM that shows the nutrition info.
Next, I promote my post via social media (you know, the usual, Pinterest, Facebook, G+, Twitter, etc.). Every time your MRM post is viewed, you get pennies via shared ad revenues. For a blogger, you create a ping pong effect between your blog and MRM, earning money in both places. Win/win.
MRM also has a points system. The more points you get (by sharing, liking, submitting recipes), the better the gift cards and entries for giveaways you get.
See why I like it?
How many recipes can you share?
As many as you want. The more you post, the more earning potential you have.
How much money will you really make?
They estimate that you will make about $3 per recipe per month (as long as
you do a little promoting). The great thing is once you put a recipe into our database,
you will make money on it for as long as it stays active on the site.
How do they pay out each month?
When you sign up for MRM, you enter in your email address that is
connected to your PayPal account. All payments are safely issued through
PayPal once a month.
Do I have to have a blog to share my recipes?
No. Actually, most of the people on MyRecipeMagic are not bloggers. It's the
perfect place for anyone to share their favorite recipes.
NOW are you convinced? Do you have any questions? It's a really cool site. I recommend it. Go check it out and get started!
