Persnickety Pregnancy: Pregnancy Must-Haves (so far)

Now that I’m 27 weeks into this pregnancy (holy moly), I thought I’d throw together a few of my favorite things since I love reading these from other people.

Persnickety Pregnancy: Pregnancy Must-Haves - My favorite pregnancy related items. So far.

1. Belli Elasticity Oil
I bought and started using this at 12 weeks. It claims to help prevent stretch marks. I think stretch marks are genetic so either you’re going to get them or you’re not, but if nothing else, it helps keep my skin moisturized because stretching itches. I didn’t know. It is a little pricey but even after using it nightly for 15 weeks, I still have half a bottle.

2. Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter
Same claims as the Belli Oil – it’s supposed to help prevent stretch marks. Again, it helps me itch less. I use this one in the morning.

3. Tervis Tumbler
This is a pre-pregnancy purchase (& love) but it’s extra important to stay hydrated while you’re growing a baby. I carry my Tervis filled with ice water with me pretty much everywhere I go. They really do keep your water cold for a really long time.

4. Elastic Hair Ties
These aren’t for my hair, they’re to hold my pants together. I have yet to find a pair of maternity jeans that I like. I’ve tried Old Navy, Asos, and some from Kohl’s. Typically my favorite jeans are Joe’s, but I don’t want to spend that much on a maternity pair. Luckily, I’m still able to use the hair tie through the button hole trick on my “real” jeans to keep them up. Though I’m not sure how much longer that will last.

5. Oh Baby by Motherhood Solid Tees
These are my favorite long sleeve tees. They’re comfy, not too fitted, but not slouchy either. I also like the Liz Lange Maternity brand from Target but these are thicker (and help hide my gaping hole of a belly button a little better).

6. Bump Nest Pregnancy Pillow
I knew I wanted a pregnancy pillow but I skipped the regulars (Snoogle, Boppy, etc.) and went to this Cadillac of pregnancy pillows. It was worth every penny. To be fair, I haven’t used the others, so I can’t compare, but I really love everything about this pillow. I got it at 12 weeks and have slept with it every night. It’s sooooo soft and I love that the cover comes off & is washable. The whole pillow is actually machine washable which I think is important. Otherwise, ew. It helps keep me on my side (I was a back sleeper) and supports my back & growing belly. I could keep going. This pillow is my bestie.

7. Nubar Diamont Quick Dry Top Coat
I paint my nails a lot and have always tried to stick to the 3-free and 4-free brands, but I used to use the Seche Vite top coat, which is full of chemicals. This quick dry top coat is just as good, in my opinion, and is 3-free.

That’s it; those are my favorite things so far. I could have added Zantac to the list but that’s not cute. Honorable mentions might go to Golden Delicious apples and black olives (I love them anyway, but I really love them now. Not together, though.) and Lucie’s List blog. I’ve really enjoyed reading that. Oh and the Gap Body pullover bras. I wear them to sleep & lounge.

Any suggestions for me as I enter the home stretch? What are/were your pregnancy must-haves?
