Easy Strawberry Shortcake Cake (with cake mix!)

A rustic vanilla layer cake filled with a whipped cream cheese frosting and fresh strawberries. Easy, impressive, and SO good!

INGREDIENTS

– French Vanilla cake mix – Eggs – Unsalted butter – Cream cheese – White sugar – Heavy whipping cream – Heavy whipping cream – Fresh strawberries *all ingredients below

STEP 1

Make the cake batter as directed. Pour evenly into prepared pans and bake for 30 mins or until golden brown.

STEP 2

In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Fold in the beaten heavy cream.

STEP 3

Spread half of the frosting on the first layer of cake. Top with half of the sliced strawberries. Place the top layer of cake onto the strawberries and pipe on the remaining frosting.

STEP 4

Arrange the remaining strawberries onto the top of the cake. Slice & enjoy!
