STEP 1

Beat the butter and sugar. Mix in the vanilla, molasses and the egg. In another bowl, sift together the dry ingredients.

STEP 2

Add the dry ingredients into the molasses mixture alternating with the hot water and beating after each addition.

STEP 3

Pour into the prepared pan and bake for  35-40 minutes.

STEP 4

To a bowl, add the cream cheese and butter and mix. Mix in the vanilla. Add in the powdered sugar in small parts, mixing well.

STEP 5

Frost the cooled cake and sprinkle with some nutmeg.
