Garlic Butter Baked Chicken is an easy chicken recipe that is simple yet impressive. Made with a garlic-infused butter sauce, the meat is juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Serve it with your favorite sides and you've got a simple dinner ready for the family in under an hour!
Preheat the oven to 375°F and pour the olive oil into the bottom of a 9x13 glass baking dish. Spread it around to coat the bottom.
1 Tablespoon olive oil
If needed, butterfly the chicken breasts so you have 4-6 pieces. Season with salt and pepper and place in the baking dish.
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, salt & pepper
In a small skillet over medium heat, add the butter. Once melted, add in the minced garlic and cook, stirring frequently, for 4-5 minutes until light brown. Do not let it burn.
⅓ cup unsalted butter, 3 cloves garlic
Remove the pan from the heat and add in the parsley, lemon pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to evenly distribute.
1 Tablespoon dried parsley, 2 teaspoons lemon pepper, ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Pour the melted butter evenly over the chicken breasts.
Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until an internal temperature of 165° is reached.
Remove from the oven, let stand for 5 minutes, then serve, spooning the extra garlic butter over the top.
Notes
Pat chicken dry before seasoning to help the coating stick and brown better.
Boost flavor with herbs like Italian seasoning, thyme, rosemary, or basil.
Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches 165°F internally.
Toss in veggies like brussels sprouts, green beans, or baby carrots to roast with the meat.
Sprinkle cheese on top—mozzarella, Italian blend, or Parmesan all work great.
Add capers for a tangy twist, especially if you enjoy lemon chicken flavors.
