I started Persnickety Plates after I was done wedding planning in 2009. I had just started following blogs and wanted a place to keep track of the recipes I’d tried and what changes I’d made to them.
I needed a new hobby so I figured I’d start my own.
In the early days, my posts had quick cell phone camera shots (back when phones had 3MP cameras!) and very little text.
Times have changed lol
Now, a great amount of care goes into recipe testing, photographing, editing, and writing tips and suggestions so that you can have success on your first try of making one of my recipes.
Blogging has grown into my passion and full time job.
With millions of unique visitors to the site each year, Persnickety Plates has grown to the top 2% of publishers in the largest advertising network on the internet.
A stat that I’m very proud of.
I’m persnickety (hence the name) so I don’t make a lot of fancypants recipes with hard to find ingredients. I make everyday recipes that the average person would be interested in.
I help you plan meals and feed your family.
I try to use “real” ingredients and eat pretty clean, whenever possible. Obviously, there are exceptions to every rule.
Everyone likes a shortcut now and then – especially this full time working mom with two picky kids.
In 2014, we added baby girl #1. I’m partial, but she’s pretty amazing and more fun everyday.
In 2017, we added baby girl #2 and completed our little family. She is also pretty amazing and more fun every day.
Again, I’m partial.
I love my family, reading, text messages, vodka, pandas, brownies, sleeping in (ha, not anymore), vacuum lines, working out, laughing, and sharing my recipes with people around the world.
