Chocolate Milk Cupcakes with Chocolate Milk Frosting
The other day I was really craving an ice cream sandwich. The craving popped up out of nowhere and didn’t leave. For days. Finally, my husband came home with a box of TruMoo ice cream sandwiches and proudly proclaimed, “they don’t have any high fructose corn syrup!”.
I’m much pickier about the ingredients in our food than he is and I love that he noticed that and made his choice based on it.
A couple days later, I got this opportunity to develop a recipe using TruMoo chocolate milk. How perfect. I try to make healthy choices but I’m clearly not going to give up baked goods (or frozen treats). Using TruMoo milk that, as my husband pointed out, has no HFCS and no artificial growth hormones, but still has great chocolate flavor helps me keep the healthy/happy balance.
These easy chocolate cupcakes start with a boxed mix but you could easily use this chocolate cupcake recipe from scratch if you want to avoid that.
The chocolate milk flavor definitely comes through in both the cupcake and the frosting leaving a chocolate milk aftertaste which is a great thing. I ate three of them while I was taking their picture…
