Ingredients

Below is a list of the ingredients you’ll need to gather to make this recipe, why you need them, and possible substitutions. Scroll all the way down for the full recipe card with measurements.

Jump
  • Unsalted butter – Bring it to room temperature early on, so it’s soft enough to spread easily.
  • Powdered sugar – Sweetens the butter without a grainy texture and helps to stabilize it.
  • Honey – For the honey flavor! Use whatever honey you prefer.
  • Cinnamon – Use the amount listed to start, and then add more if needed.
  • Kosher salt – We’re using unsalted butter, so we add salt to get the perfect balance of flavors and enhance the taste in a way we can control.

How to serve it

We all know you can’t have copycat Texas Roadhouse rolls without the cinnamon honey butter to match, but this sensational butter is good for so much more!

Try it on my one hour dinner rolls or a slice of toasted rustic slow cooker bread for a snack or slather it on easy homemade pancakes, buttermilk waffles, or French breakfast muffins in the morning.

It would also be fantastic spread over a slice of cinnamon swirl quick bread or banana bread for brunch.

  • For sweeter butter, add extra powdered sugar, a teaspoon at a time, until it’s as sweet as you want it.
  • If using salted butter, omit the added salt. Once you taste test it, you’ll know if it needs any more.
  • Bring the butter to room temperature so that it is very soft. If it’s still a bit solid, it’ll be harder to make sure all ingredients are well blended.
  • Before serving, bring the cinnamon honey butter to room temperature. It’s much easier to spread.
  • It can also be kept at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • Place some in a little mason jar, add a pretty label, and gift it to someone special!

How to store leftovers

Keep leftover Texas Roadhouse cinnamon honey butter stored in an airtight container or jar with a tight-fitting lid. Store it for up to 2 days at room temperature or up to a month in the fridge.

Freezing Instructions

If kept in a freezer-safe container, it can be frozen for up to 6 months. Another way to store it is to roll it into a log using plastic wrap.

FAQs

Does Texas Roadhouse use butter or margarine?

Rumor has it that Texas Roadhouse uses half butter and half margarine, which you can definitely do, but I prefer real butter, so that’s what I use in my version.

If I don’t have honey, can I use maple syrup instead?

You can. It won’t be a Texas Roadhouse copycat anymore, but it’ll still be amazing.
