Tender, juicy turkey breast slow cooked with flavor-rich herb stuffing, creamy cream of chicken soup, tangy sour cream, and hearty chicken stock makes the perfect easy weeknight dinner that is both filling and comforting.

Turkey Stuffing Casserole
This 5-ingredient turkey and stuffing slow cooker casserole is perfect for those chilly fall nights! This dish combines all the flavors of Thanksgiving dinner in one easy-to-prepare dish.
The best part about this recipe is that it only requires five ingredients: turkey breast, herbed box stuffing mix, cream of chicken soup (or any “cream of” soup), sour cream, and chicken stock.
The stuffing gives this dish its texture and flavor without needing any more breadcrumbs or flour, while the cream of chicken soup adds some extra moisture. This recipe serves at least four people and takes less than 10 minutes to prep!
Then, if you have leftovers, you can turn them into turkey & stuffing egg rolls!

Helpful Tools
For this recipe, you’ll only need “one-pot”, your crockpot, and a medium-size mixing bowl to combine the stuffing, soup, sour cream, and broth.
- Slow Cooker – This is my slow cooker of choice. I have had it for years and recommend it.
- Mixing Bowls – I love these mixing bowls with the grippy bottoms so they don’t scoot around.
- Ladle – I’ve also had this set for years and it is great for soups or scooping casseroles.
Ingredients
Below is a list of the ingredients you’ll need to gather to make this recipe, why you need them, and possible substitutions. Scroll all the way down for the full recipe card with measurements.
Jump- Turkey – Boneless, skinless turkey breasts (chicken will also work, if that’s your preference). Season it with salt, pepper, onion powder…whatever you like.
- Stuffing Mix – One box of stuffing mix. It comes in many flavors – choose your favorite.
- “Cream of” Soup – Cream of Chicken works well but so does Onion or Celery. Low-sodium also works. If you don’t like using canned, you can use make homemade condensed soup.
- Sour Cream – Sour cream helps add moisture to the casserole. Greek yogurt can also be used.
- Chicken Stock – Stock or broth can be used.

Every slow cooker runs differently. Times given are a general recommendation and should be tested in your own slow cooker and adjusted as needed.
What to serve with it
The stuffing covers your starch, so all you have to do is serve it with a veggie, and you have yourself an easy meal.
Some options include oven-roasted garlic green beans, carrots, or sauteed asparagus.
For dessert, go with an apple bundt cake, molasses cookies, or a chocolate cream pie!
Storage & Reheating
How long does this recipe last in the fridge?
If properly stored, your casserole will be good in the refrigerator for about three days. Make sure to store it tightly covered and either on a plate or in an airtight container to avoid any spills.
Can I freeze this turkey and stuffing casserole?
This recipe can be frozen, but because there is sour cream included, we don’t recommend freezing it for more than two months. To prepare the dish after you’ve thawed it out, just cook on low for about two hours.
As always, I recommend portioning it out into these Souper Cubes when freezing.
FAQs
Sure can. Boneless skinless chicken breasts can be used in place of the turkey.
Or, you can try my whole chicken and stuffing recipe!
If you have leftover turkey or stuffing, you can definitely use it for this recipe!
If you are using leftover turkey, you will only need to warm the turkey and the stuffing. Set your crockpot to low and cook for about an hour or two or until the stuffing is tender.
If you are using leftover stuffing, you’ll still want to add in the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and broth to keep the stuffing from drying out. You may need to cut the broth in half depending on how wet your leftover stuffing is.
Yes, you can easily make this turkey and stuffing casserole gluten-free by using a gluten-free bread in place of the herbed box stuffing mix. You will need to use your discretion when it comes to the chicken stock, as some brands have wheat listed on their ingredients list. “Cream of” soup is also not gluten free but you can make homemade.
Yes, you can definitely add more or different vegetables to your casserole. Some good options include brussels sprouts, asparagus, mushrooms, or bell peppers.

I would like to know if this recipe can be doubled, and how long it should cook. Five ingredient turkey stuffing. Thank you!
Hi Carol, as long as your slow cooker can accommodate it, it should be ok. Make sure the turkey hits an internal temp of 165°F.
